PROPERTIES: :
This medium density wood dries rapidly. Alder is moderately light in weight and intermediate in most strength properties. It is low in shock resistance. the wood has relatively low shrinkage and machines well. Cutting tools should be kept sharp. There is no visible boundary between heartwood and sapwood.
USAGE:
Alder is used to make cabinets, fine furniture, furniture frames, pallets, plywood, veneer, specialty items and paper products. It is also considered a good turnery wood.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
We recommend solid finished ends due to the fact alder plywood is a custom setup.
